Resources of interest
The study of neuroscience encompasses multiple approaches. There are tools and resources have been developed for research and teaching purposes that are very interesting and useful to learn more about neurons and the nervous system. Some of these resources are freely accessible and allow observing the structure of the nervous system or understanding how ions move within a cell to generate electrical signals.
3D atlas of the brain
Inside the BrainFacts.org website (dependent on the Society for Neuroscience) you can find news and other utilities, including a 3D Atlas of the brain that allows us to see its different anatomical regions https://www.brainfacts.org/3d-brain#intro=false&focus=Brain
Nernst/Goldman ecuation simulator
This tool works in adobe flash player and can be downloaded from this link (https://www.azps.life/s/ngswin.zip), there is also a free version in the apple store.
It allows to calculate and simulate the membrane potential and the equilibrium potentials of the different ions.
